PlixPlex; Interactive Gaming in Virginia Beach

 

PlixPlex is the first and only challenge arcade in Virginia Beach on the Oceanfront that offers interactive gaming zones each with their own unique theme and challenges. PlixPlex is split into four gaming zones today you will learn about one of our favorite gaming zones; The Robot Refinery. 

 

The Robot Refinery Gaming Zone

 

The Robo Refinery is based on a sci-fi themed robot factory that manufactures robots. Each game in this zone is meant to replicate the process needed to produce one of these robots. These games are uniquely designed to test your group’s physical ability, mental strength, and strengthen teamwork. Learn more about each game in the Robo Refinery below:

Ball Runner

This game has players refining metal ingots in a forge. Players are guiding a rubber ball toward a hole at the end of a balance board covered in obstacles. Ball Runner features six unique balance boards for players to traverse.

System Control

This game has players resolving issues with the factory’s automated systems at four different stations in the room. Each station has a series of 6 unique actions and 1 unique prompt. The prompt relates to an action that needs to be taken at a different station. For example, one station may have the prompt “Release the Kraken”, but releasing the Kraken is at another station in the room. This game will test your group’s ability to coordinate your efforts to be successful.

Captcha If You Can

Players must aid the factory AI by deciphering captchas. This room is divided into 2 sections. One section features 3 large grids covered in various icons. The other section has a tablet that displays an icon with a series of directions. The player at the tablet will see commands like “Lion, Down, Left.” and communicate that to the grid section. The players in the grid section need to look for the lion icon, move one icon down, one icon left, and then relay that icon to the tablet person so they can select the correct answer.

Motor Function Junction

Players are helping the newly created robots learn how to speak in a more human-like manner. The room is completely filled with black and white yoga balls, and  the walls are covered with Buttons, each corresponding with a letter of the alphabet. The TV in the room displays a sentence with a missing letter and players need to find the corresponding button while wading through a room full of yoga balls.
